About cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s session storage, work in much the same way. This policy explains which of them worklyup.com uses and how you stay in control. It applies to every language version of the site.
How we handle the personal data involved is set out in our privacy policy.
Our approach
- We use only the cookies needed to run the site securely, plus Google Analytics if you agree to it.
- No advertising cookies, no social media pixels, no cross-site tracking, and we never sell data.
- Analytics stays off until you choose “Accept all” or switch analytics on under “Preferences”. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way.
- UK law now allows some analytics without consent, but we ask for consent from every visitor, wherever they are.
Cookies we use
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
wu_consent |
Workly Up (worklyup.com) | Remembers your cookie choices, so the banner does not reappear on every page | 6 months | Strictly necessary | No |
wu_lang |
Workly Up (worklyup.com) | Remembers the language you chose with the language switcher, so the home page opens in that language | 1 year | Strictly necessary (a preference you asked us to remember) | No |
__cf_bm |
Cloudflare | Helps tell people apart from automated traffic to protect the site. Its contents are encrypted and it is not linked to any account or identity on our site. | 30 minutes of inactivity | Strictly necessary (security) | No |
cf_clearance |
Cloudflare | Records that your browser passed a Cloudflare security check, so you are not checked again straight away. Set only when such a check is completed, for example a Cloudflare challenge page. | 30 minutes by default (our security setting) | Strictly necessary (security) | No |
cf_chl_rc_i, cf_chl_rc_ni, cf_chl_rc_m |
Cloudflare | Used inside Cloudflare’s security check to detect technical problems with it | Not stated by Cloudflare | Strictly necessary (security) | No |
_ga |
Google Analytics (set on worklyup.com) | Distinguishes one visitor from another, so we can count visits | Up to 2 years, renewed on each visit | Analytics | Yes |
_ga_<ID> |
Google Analytics (set on worklyup.com) | Keeps track of your current session; the suffix is our Analytics property ID | Up to 2 years, renewed on each visit | Analytics | Yes |
Cloudflare sets its cookies only when its security features need them, so you may not see all of them. The check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs in a small frame served from challenges.cloudflare.com, and Cloudflare may set its security cookies in that frame too; current browsers keep such cookies separate for each website you visit.
Other storage and signals
- Language suggestion. If your browser’s first language differs from the language of the page you are reading, we may show a short note that the page also exists in your language. If you close it, we remember that in your browser’s session storage until you close the tab or window.
- Browser language. The first time you open our home page, our server reads the language your browser asks for, to choose the English, Turkish or German home page. Nothing is stored.
- Form check token. When you send a form, Cloudflare Turnstile gives your browser a single-use token that our server checks with Cloudflare. It is not kept on your device after the form is sent.
Google Analytics
If you accept analytics, the Google Analytics tag loads and collects the information described in our privacy policy. If you do not, it does not load and nothing is sent to Google. We have set it up to collect as little as possible:
- Google Signals is off, and Analytics is not linked to any advertising account.
- Collection of city-level location and detailed device data is switched off.
- User-level and event-level data are deleted after 2 months; only aggregated statistics remain.
- Google states that it does not log or store the IP addresses of visitors in the UK, the EU and Switzerland.
- We never send names, email addresses or form contents to Google Analytics.
Google acts as our processor for this data, under its data processing terms. Google Analytics data may be processed in the United States; the safeguards are described in our privacy policy.
Changing your choice
- On this site. Select “Cookie settings” at the foot of any page to review or change your choice at any time. If you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and delete its
_gacookies from your browser. - When we ask again. Your choice is kept for 6 months. We ask again after that, or sooner if we start using a new kind of cookie.
- In your browser. You can delete cookies or block them in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the forms or the security check from working.
- Google’s own tool. Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on all websites: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Legal basis
In the UK, cookies are governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. Strictly necessary cookies and cookies that remember a setting you chose do not need consent; for analytics, we rely on your consent. In the EU, we follow the same consent rules under the ePrivacy Directive as applied in your country. For visitors from Türkiye, our Çerez Politikası and KVKK Aydınlatma Metni explain the position under KVKK.
Changes
We update this policy when the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows the current version.
